Homelands on the World of Magic the Gathering Comic

The Homelands comic, published by Armada/Acclaim in 1996, is an official lore tie-in to the Magic: The Gathering expansion of the same name. It details the history of Ulgrotha, a remote plane sealed away from the rest of the multiverse.

The Wizards' War & The Chime: Long before the comic's main events, Ulgrotha was devastated by wars between the Tolgath (planeswalkers who wanted knowledge) and the Ancients (cruel wizards who hoarded secrets). Overcome by the chaos, a Tolgath planeswalker named Ravi rang the Apocalypse Chime, an ancient artifact that wiped out much of the plane's life and mana. [1, 2]

Feroz & Serra: Years later, the planeswalker Feroz discovered the ruined plane and decided to protect it. He met and married the planeswalker Serra, and together they worked to restore Ulgrotha. To keep it safe from other multiverse entities, Feroz created a magical barrier known as "Feroz's Ban".
